Random Nature

Just a few random nature shots taken during my trip to Arizona earlier this month.

Skywatch Friday submission
Even the dirty window of the airplane didn't dampen my joy at having fair skies to watch during the flight.

Rough dried seed pods against the deep blue sky always capture my gaze.

Impromptu Portrait Session

It has been many years since my In-laws have had portraits done, so while I was visiting I did a few impromptu portrait shots.

This last shot of my Mother-in-law is my all time favorite photo of her.

Passing Time

I caught this reflection with my cell phone while passing time waiting in the car to pick my Son-in-law up from work. The photo still isn't the best quality but 100% better than my old cell phone.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday on Monday

In an attempt to get back on track I headed over to Ashley Sisks blog to check out one of my favorite photography blog hops. It has been some time since I last participated but I was happy to see it was still going strong. So here are my interpretations of the prompts she gave for this last Sunday's hunt.

Photographers Choice
For this prompt I decided on this fun shot I took with my new cell phone while waiting in the car for my son in law to get off work the other day. Oh, yes Donald is a permanent passenger in my daughters car.

Lunch
hmmm, not the most creative but this is what I was eating for lunch while I was reading this weeks prompts. It is nothing special. I just threw some left over taco meat in a skillet with some frozen Potato's O'Brien, heated it up and tossed a bit of cheese on top and let that melt. Add a touch of salsa and walla lunch.

Starts with the letter G
This one was extra easy.  I will be GOING on a little trip next week to visit my in-laws. Although now looking at it, it really isn't very creative. I just took a photo of the printed itinerary.

My Town
Another not so creative shot. Looking out the window at our cold street. The temp at the time of the shot was about eight below zero! And that isn't factoring in the wind.

Words to live by
I took this the other day and shared it HERE without words, now here it is with what I feel are great words to live by.

I hope you have enjoyed my interpretations and will head over to Ashley's to join in the fun.

Slow Shutter

Happy New Year!
Wishing all a wonderful and bright year!

I decided to start the new year off with a little photographic fun. So I played a little with the lights on the Christmas tree, slow shutter speeds and controlled hand movement.
Then I decided I really wanted to capture colorful sparks flying around my granddaughter.
Which led to using light from the TV combined with the tree lights to create a shot representative of a colorful universe.
