Wings of Reflection

I absolutely love the way a dragonfly's wings capture the light, reflecting it in a glitter of iridescent color.

If you enjoy reflections please hop over to Jame's Weekend Reflection to see more and share your own reflections.

When Cows Fly part 2

Wish I had seen these before I wrote 'When Cows Fly'
I took these the other day with my cell phone while in the crazy store as the kids call it.

All I can say is;
It is Monday morning after all!

You might be a redneck if . . .

This one is for my dear brother who long ago left behind his teenage years of being a redneck mechanic to become an exceptionally talented and successful world class mechanic and owner of WeGo2Umobilemechanic.

Random Flowers

I wanted to share some flowers with everyone to get the week off to a cheerful start, but realized my current selection of flowers was a little sparse. So here are a few more from my archives.

So there we are, a few flowers to start off the week.
Have a wonderful week!

Free Flying

While I am sure painting this was anything but simple the image struck me as simply beautiful.

Walking with the shadows

Shadow Shot Sunday 2

Walking with the shadows, both physically and metaphysically.

While in Sturgis, South Dakota for this, I was drawn to this engraved pathway. At first I thought it was some type of memorial then I realized some of the blocks held the names of businesses and not individuals. I did not find any information on Sturgis' city website so I am only assuming that this pathway was created as a way to raise funds for the revitalization of the main street by offering blocks for sale. Personally I think it is a really great idea. I don't much care for the advertising blocks but really found the memorial blocks to be touching and historically interesting.
What do you think about this method of funding?

Coming Soon!

Back in April I had the privilege of capturing the early stage of Anni's pregnancy and now I have been privileged once again to capture her in her late stage of pregnancy. With only three weeks left the baby should be coming soon.

I wish this new family all the best and hope I will be able to capture their little one when she arrives.

Great Faces

Given the fact that South Dakota is home to Mt. Rushmore our slogan is Great Faces, Great Places. In addition to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse down town Rapid City is full of sculptures of our nations presidents. I won't claim that all of the presidents faces were all that great but the sculptures sure are. On Monday I decided take my grandchildren down and see which presidents we could find.

James K. Polk 11th president

Richard M. Nixon 37th President

Andrew Johnson 17th President

Dwight D. Eisenhower 34th President

George W. Bush 43rd President

It turned out to be a rather hot day so we only found these before our interest turned to cooler pursuits.
