Temptations

Just a few cell phone shots

sky watch Friday submission

Weekend Reflection submission
What is your biggest temptation? For me it is the clothing stores. Although, I am a bit tempted by Red Robin.... :)

To enjoy a bit of free temptation I suggest you join in the fun with Friday Sky Watch and Jame's Weekend Reflection.

I would love for you to hop over and read The AC Menagerie Bulletin.

Two for One

For this weeks Weekend Reflection and Friday Skywatch photo I have decided to share this photo of the sun and late afternoon sky reflecting in the windows of this great old building. The photo was taken at the beginning of the summer, while we were doing this.

On The Prairie

A glimpse of the beauty seen on the prairie.

Scattered across the prairie are hundreds, no thousands of small ponds and lakes teaming with wildlife, offering a soothing atmosphere and providing great reflections.

But my all time favorite sight on the prairie is the breathtaking skies! A vivid blue that seemingly stretches into eternity, often gloriously interspersed with brilliant billowy clouds. More photos and information about the location of these two photos can be seen in this post.

Finds On A Frozen Friday

I braved the cold this morning and headed out to find a fun reflection and sky scene to photograph for two of my favorite link ups. I headed down town hoping to catch reflection of shoppers bundled up on a cold day. Unfortunately I guess I was the only one crazy enough to be out walking in the chilly morning. But I did find a geometric reflection of the sky and tree branches in a restaurants facade.

I had planned on heading over to one of the parks to capture the sky shot but when I saw how pretty the clouds looked behind the Philips Avenue clock I decided to go with that shot and get in out of the cold.

And with Friday Sky Watch

This morning the temperature was right around 14 degrees and only a gentle breeze, but the temp has been dropping and the wind has been picking up. Our high tomorrow is only suppose to reach 5 degrees and continue to drop with a high of -5 on Sunday. So it looks like no more outdoor photos for a few days at least.

Friday Mix

Friday Sky Watch
Our skies have been full of clouds for much of the last few weeks. Between thunderstorms and persistent drizzle the hills are turning a beautiful green. At least we haven't had the severe flooding that is going on elsewhere.

Weekend Reflections
Mirrored windows offer such wonderful frames for nice reflections.
Nature Walk
This was taken at the end of last month when I convinced a friend to join me for a photographic nature walk. Thankfully the ground wasn't too wet for us to get down and capture a few shots of what I call belly flowers. You know those itty-bitty flowers that you have to lay on your belly to get a good look at them.

Signs
This fun sign guides visitors of Main Street Square in down town Rapid City, SD.
I hope you have enjoyed my Friday mix.

Random Nature

Just a few random nature shots taken during my trip to Arizona earlier this month.

Skywatch Friday submission
Even the dirty window of the airplane didn't dampen my joy at having fair skies to watch during the flight.

Rough dried seed pods against the deep blue sky always capture my gaze.
