Late October Flowers

The rose garden was looking a bit shabby.

With the exception of these sturdy red roses.

Have a Wonderful Week!

Soaking It All In

It may feel like -8f  outside today but luckily I have a good collection of photographs to go through taken before our weather turned frigid. Check out how these individuals soaked in the mild Autumn day.

A parks worker taking a break? Find out on Sunday.

My first thought about this guy was 'why on earth waste the beauty of your surroundings with your nose stuck in your cell phone?'.

Then I decided I was being completely unfair and a bit hypocritical as well. How many times have I relaxed in the grass by a lake or pond with my nose stuck in a book? Too many to count I will venture. All that matters is that he was relaxing in the way he wanted to relax. He was spending the moment soaking in the atmosphere in a way that appealed to him. Although, I can't quite decide if that is a hint of a smile on his face or a bit of a smirk. Maybe he wasn't enjoying it as much as I thought he was. What do you think?

Autumn Ripple

I was mesmerized by the way the rippling water captured the light and reflected the rich autumn tones.

Summers End

Before I get to more of the Arizona photos I wanted to share a few end of summer shots taken around Norfolk in late September and early October.

With the kids all back in school and the weather cooling down the ocean front was very quiet on this weekday afternoon.
On another afternoon I went wandering and came across this peaceful neighborhood full of beautiful homes and calm waterways.

I am hoping to head back to this neighborhood for some Autumn photos as I can just imagine how beautiful it looks with the trees ablaze in autumn colors.

Random Summer Shots

This summer has flown past in such a whirl wind of activity, with the last few weeks busier than ever. As Autumn approaches I hope to get myself back to some semblance of routine but for now here are some shots from this summer that I have been wanting to share.

One thing I am sure not to forget from this summer is the heat and humidity of Virginia. Although I am not a beer drinker I was very tempted to run off with all this ice.
Braving the heat I was drawn to the many ships, both big and small.
With the weather cooling down I am looking forward to exploring this beautiful city at much greater length.
Although the kids will soon be starting school I am hoping we will still find plenty of time for long walks and photo hunts or as my grandson calls them park hunts.

So I say ado to summer and welcome the coming Autumn with excitement.

Autumn Leaves

We are so blessed that this year Fall has decided to stick around a bit longer than it normally does. Here are a few shots of the beautiful colors.

Random Fall Flowers

Last week I had the pleasure of finding these few flowers still lingering in the cool fall temperatures.

I almost missed this little guy he was hiding so well.

Autumn does not seem to be in as much of a hurry to pass us by, so hopefully I will be able to find a few more lovely flowers before the snow flies.
