Scavenger Hunt Sunday

I had a lot of fun figuring out what to do for this weeks Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts. I hope you enjoy these at least half as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Street Photography:
Just thought I would share what is at this time of year the most common of all street scenes in the upper Midwest.

From A Distance:
I took this shot of the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building as seen from the Lincoln Memorial  last month while I was visiting my niece in DC.
Sunday:
Sunday is my day to unwind and relax.
Liquid:
My husband thought I was nuts when he saw me run and grab my camera in the middle of making supper. But how could I pass up this fun interpretation of liquid.
Melting Butter!
Behind:
If you haven't guessed by now I am a bit eccentric. I don't generally do self portraits but this weeks prompts really worked well for both self portraits. At first I thought, okay so what shall I take a picture of from behind. That of course brought a dumb joke to mind and I almost headed to the football field to take a photo of the bleachers from behind. Then it dawned on me I should take one of myself, I am always behind. If it wasn't for my cell phone and computer with their little alarms, I would never do anything on time. Of course the best place for such a shot would have to be Adhler's clock shop.
Have a fantastic week everyone!

Honoring Those Who Have Served

National Law Enforcement Memorial
 U.S. Navy Memorial

 WWII Memorial

Vietnam Veteran's Memorial

 Abraham Lincoln Memorial

These are just a few of the soul touching sights I experienced while visiting DC. I hope you have enjoyed my photos and if you have not been to Washington DC, I highly recommend seeing it in person.

The Washington Monument

There was so much to see in Washington DC, I almost felt like a bobble head on a taxi cabs' dashboard. With less than two days to tour the city I am surprised I saw as much as I did. Today I would like to share some of my favorites of The Washington Monument.
My tour guide and beautiful niece.

The Lincoln Memorial from the base of the Washington Monument

Although the forecast called for 50% rain and scattered T' storms, other than a few sprinkles it turned out to be a beautiful day.  Looking at the cloud formation in the last three pictures you can get a little bit of an idea how long it took us to walk to the base of the monument
