Random Photography

Today I am preparing to hop on a plane for Arizona and hopefully pull myself out of this slump I have been in. So, I decided to post a few of the random photographs I have taken over the last few weeks.

Flyin' High: Skywatch

Have you ever taken photos from a ride like this?
I tried to convince the grand kids to go on this with me so I could get a few fun shots, but they thought I was crazy. Years ago I took some really fun perspective shots while riding on a roller coaster, so I am sure this would be a great place to get a different perspective on the beach scene.

Ocean View Beach Park

A quiet afternoon walk on the beach

I was not the only one enjoying a quiet walk. This little guy just rambled on past me without a care in the world.

A Sad Discovery

A walk on the beach just isn't complete without looking for unique and beautiful sea shells. But it rarely occurs to me when doing so that a living creature may have met there demise for me to see their wonderful shell. Sure I know that some of the shells have been discarded by the owner for newer and bigger shells but still with some that is not the case.
Today I discovered this amazing looking creature. Being from the west coast I had never seen anything like this before. I was sad and thrilled all at the same time. Sad because whatever this amazing creature was it had obviously met with disaster. Thrilled because I had the chance to photograph something I had never seen before.
Of course when I got home I began my search to figure out what exactly I had captured with my camera. After much searching I finally found this blog post by Joe Reynolds, and finally knew what I had photographed. I sure hope this one had many little babies before it met it's demise.

He's Watching You

If you happen to be traveling near 21st and Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach and feel you are being watched, you probably are by this guy.

Withering Beauty

During a photo walk Sunday evening with a few photographers from Clickin Moms I was drawn to the beauty of some of the doorways on a few homes that seemed to be in need of some TLC. It dawned on me that name of gallery 23 of 52 Photos Project was perfect to describe these beautiful doorways.

This majestic old home is in the process of receiving some much needed tender loving care. The stripped columns almost look like heavily rusted metal instead of wood.
I really loved the steps up to this door but what really caught my eye was the contrast of the shiny new kick plates on the weathered door.

If you enjoyed these you may want to head over to the project and check out the other withering beauties:
