All About The Fender

From time to time my oldest brother and I post photos on Facebook showing just the fender or grill of a car and challenge friends to name the make, model and year.   I thought it might be nice to share a few here from my photos taken at a car show last month. If you would like to see the full images they can be seen in my Automania post
Now I am by no means a car buff, but coming from a family that loves our automobiles I am fairly good when it comes to pre-1980 vehicles. This one is by far the easiest for me. I was able to tell my friend the make and year before we got close enough to see the emblem or read the cars information.

My oldest brother and oldest son fall in the car buff category and most times can tell the make and year by just the fender and frequently the model too. Unlike me they are not limited to any particular era. I am going to need their help on this one because I didn't get the info when I took the photo and I have no clue what it is. My guess though is that it is somewhere in the range of a '36 to '40 and possibly a Chevy or Oldsmobile. If you know or want to take a guess I would love to get your input, just post it in the comments.

Even my oldest daughter has acquired this family talent. Her knowledge though is mostly with post 1980 vehicles. I knew the make of this one but had no idea on model or year and she was able to tell me the make, model and was only one off on the year.

This last one the make is a dead give-a-way. I didn't know the exact model name but was only one off on the year. You can see more of these challenges in my album titled Automobile Challenge on my Facebook page. I have made the album public to make it easy for all to see and play along.

Now for the information on the photos, just scroll down.

I am, admittedly, terrible at identifying cars.
