Thursday Thoughts N Shots

So I had this odd thought that it might be fun to do a post about odd photographs. Yes, anyone that knows me well will tell you that I often have odd thoughts and often take odd photographs.

Off I went to my archives in search of the oddest photograph and settled on this one.

At a glance it may not seem like such an odd shot, but these ice crystals are not some cool crystal formation found in nature but ice crystals that formed on as my family calls it a 'science project' that was found at the very back of our refrigerator one afternoon when I was cleaning it out. Needless to say my family thought I was nuts when I stopped my cleaning to go grab my camera so I could photograph the crystals.

So do you take photographs of odd things? If so, what is the oddest thing you have taken a photograph of? I would love to hear about it.

Now for another odd thought; what if this were a linky. Wouldn't that be fun to share posts about our thoughts on photography that include one or more photos relating to that thought? What do you think?

Seeing Cellular

Just as we often see hearts and faces in unexpected places I find myself seeing cellular illusions in odd materials.

In case you are wondering what on earth I photographed, it is a macro of a sheet of plastic on our front porch light.

Linking up with the 52 Photos Project. This weeks prompt is "The light arrived and opened like a rose garden ~ Pablo Neruda

Scavenger Hunt Sunday: It's A Wild Life

Time for the fun Scavenger Hunt Sunday. This weeks prompts were so much fun.
Enjoy!

Sunset
I did attempt to get out at sunset this week but with the freezing cold and the wind I chickened out so my sunset submission is from my archives.

Black and White
Generally I shoot full color and then switch only a few shots to b/w during processing. However, I did set my camera to monochrome for a series of photographs this week. This was my favorite.

A Day in My Life
After a great deal of thought I chose to capture an abstract photo that depicts my rather wild, crazy and colorful daily life. Focusing on my rather wild bedroom curtains I used a slow shutter speed and manual movement of the camera to capture a number of really cool abstracts. This is the one that I feel most depicts my daily life.

Four
When I read the suggestion for this prompt I was pretty excited because this is a prompt where I can share my passion for photographic art.  My submission is a composite multiplicity photo created this week using four different photographs taken specifically for this purpose early last fall.

Colorful
I just loved the look of so many of the shots I took trying to capture my wild life I decided to share another one as my shot for colorful. I call this one Wild Child.

Next weeks prompts:
Smile (Saun's suggestion)
Stand Alone (Saun's suggestion)
Rusty or Something Old (Saun's suggestion)
Artificial (Terrie's suggestion)
Repeating Pattern (Terrie's suggestion)

I hope you have enjoyed my photographs and will join us at Ashley Sisk's just click on the button below.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday Submissions

What a wild week! I had to pull a few from my archives for this weeks challenges. So without any further chit chat here are my submissions.

Abstract
I just loved the way the shadow of the railing looked on these stairs.

Round (Paper Heart Camera prompt)
Found this cool looking skylight at the mall Saturday.

Fire (Pieni Lintu's suggestion)
This fire shot is not mine but is my daughters. She went with me one day and was looking for faces and came across this one. I thought it was pretty cute. She wanted me to use it in this post for the face prompt. But since I didn't manage to get a single shot I liked for the fire prompt and don't have a single fire shot in my archives, I figured I would throw it in here and share her work.

Seeing Faces in Strange/Unexpected Places (Pieni Lintu's suggestion)
Hope you can see the two faces I saw in this reflection of the kiosks in the mall. One is in the upper right corner and the other is center bottom.

Stars (Pieni Lintu's suggestion)
For this prompt I chose to pull from my archives of completed photographic artwork. This collage is made up of photographs I took of my 'Star', my grandson.

Well there you have it. Visit Ashely's Scavenger Hunt Sunday to join in the fun.
Next weeks prompts are:
  1. Words
  2. Under (Paper Heart Camera prompt)
  3. Orange (Shades of Autumn prompt)
  4. Fly (Abby's suggestion)
  5. Always Look on the Bright Side (Anika's suggestion)
