Do You See What I See

Sometimes we can see what others see even if we aren't looking in the same direction thanks to reflections like this one in my grandson's glasses.

"Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
Do you see what I see?"

Okay, I know Christmas is way off but this sky photo reminded me of this line in the Christmas Carol 'Do you hear what I hear?"

While looking for the exact line I came across this song I had never heard by an Australian rock band titled "Do you see what I see?". While the meaning of song doesn't fit with my photos it's a pretty good song so I thought I would share it.

Autumn Ripple

I was mesmerized by the way the rippling water captured the light and reflected the rich autumn tones.

Reflection on The Highway

At the beginning of a long five hour ride across South Dakota, I decided I wanted to capture one of those fleeting sights, you know when the surface of the road is at just the right angle of the suns rays and it turns the roadway into a mirror for a mere second or two?
I snapped about fifteen shots over a half hour period, most of them like the one above with a good amount of light reflection and reflection of the fields but not too interesting. This next shot though is my favorite. If you click on the images and view the larger you will see that both the car and truck are reflecting on the road as well as the fields to either side.

Sensory Reflection

This is not a composite photo but a single photo of a reflection on the sensory panel of a solar powered lawn light which caught my eye earlier this week.

Colorful Reflections

The mix of colorful lights reflecting on the Main Street fountain lent a warmth to a rather chilly September evening. Linking up with Jame's Weekend Reflection.

Capturing the light

Such beauty when nature captures the light.

Sky watch Friday Submission
Late afternoon thunderstorms make for amazing sunsets. This photo of the clouds capturing the light of the setting sun was taken from our front porch.

Weekend Reflection Submission
When a mid day breeze disturbs the water of the lake it may lose the mirror reflection but it gives us a glistening reflection as it captures the light of the sun, turning the choppy surface into a glittery blanket.

T.G.I.F.

Friday is here and I am so glad to be here taking part in two of my favorite blog hops. It seems like forever since I last took photos to share on Jame's Weekend Reflections or on Skywatch Friday. So without any more ado here are the shots I took today for this post.

Today's inspiration came from my Son-In-Law's Harley

And now for a direct shot of the gorgeous sky.
If you enjoy reflections and watching the sky come join in the fun.

Victorian Peek

Here is a peek at a Victorian photo session that I shot yesterday. For this photo shoot we chose to go into the Freemason Historic District in down town Norfolk.
Weekend Reflection Submission

While taking the above photo on the steps of an old home that is now used as a business we were invited into a beautiful old home just across the street. The owners are in the process of restoring the home and decorating it with many historical pieces. In addition to opening their home to photographers they also provide historical walking tours of the area.

The owners were even kind enough to allow their little dog to take part in the photo shoot.

Raindrops N Flowers

After an evening shower earlier this week I decided to go out and try and capture some raindrops and hopefully a nice reflection or two. Here is what I managed to get.

Weekend Reflection:

Today's weekend reflection comes from my walk through the Freemason Street Historic District. Among the many beautiful homes sat Norfolk's first permanent library.

I was very tempted to call the number on the reality sign on the building to see if they would let me go inside and take pictures. I am rather saddened that this is on the market and not being used by the city for the purpose it was intended.
Be sure to hop over to Jame's Weekend Reflection for more awesome reflections.

Weekend Reflection: Happy Birthday!

This week was Birthday week. My youngest son and two of my grand daughter all celebrated birthdays this last week. Two of them were born on May 15th and one on May 14th. So in honor of them and all who were born this week, I give you these Birthday cupcake reflections.

Weekend Reflection: Fences

Late last week while looking for shadow shots for Scavenger Hunt Sunday, I spotted this fence. I was drawn to the shadow cast by the fence posts on the lower cross beam. Then I noticed the reflections on the upper cross beam and decided to shoot for both shadow and reflection.
